NSW cricket fans have been urged to take advantage of more affordable international ticket prices after all categories went on sale today.
General admission prices for the New Year’s Test and one-day internationals at the Sydney Cricket Ground have been reduced from $50 to $30 as Cricket Australia makes the world’s best cricket team more accessible to fans.
Australia’s international matches at the SCG next season are:
- A Chappell-Hadlee one-day match against New Zealand on December 4
- The third Test against Pakistan from January 3-7
- A one-day match against Pakistan on January 22
Cricket NSW chief executive Andrew Jones highlighted the opportunity for fans with Australia ranked number one in Test and one-day matches.
“Australia has as number of the best cricketers in the world and many of them are from NSW,” Mr Jones said.
“Under the aggressive captaincy of Steve Smith the team plays with flair and innovation. Australia has become the leading Test nation and current World Cup holders because they take the game on with attacking, entertaining cricket.”
A wholesale review by Cricket Australia has seen ticket prices reduced, with entry level tickets for international matches from $30 for adults, $10 for children and $65 for families.
Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland said: “We are excited to have such high calibre opponents touring Australia this summer and are sure that fans can look forward to entertaining cricket played around the country.
“We have made tickets available for purchase much earlier this year in order to give fans more time to plan their summer ahead and we encourage people to purchase tickets now and guarantee the seats they want.”
